My entrepreneurial journey started early, at just 7 years old, back in Manila, Philippines. From my family's home, I kicked off my first business venture: selling ice and school supplies. I saved every peso I earned, which soon led me to accumulating my first 6 thousand pesos. With that I did my first private lending deal when my mom had advice me to lend to a small convenience store needed some cash for a short term loan. With the help of my mom, the borrower paid me back in two weeks, giving me my first experience with private lending and sparking a lifelong passion for financial strategies.
In 2005, I moved to Canada, marking a significant shift in my journey. After finishing high school, I started my career in the financial sector in 2012 at TD Waterhouse Investor Securities. Over the following six years, I progressed through various banking roles, eventually landing a position as a Compliance Officer at State Street Bank in 2018. This role provided me with valuable insights into how the financial elite manage their wealth, especially their investment in real estate assets as a key strategy for building wealth.
Motivated by the boldness and risk-taking I observed among successful individuals, I made the decision to step away from the safety of my 9-5 job. I committed to honing my skills in sales, renovation management, and gaining a deeper grasp of real estate, mortgages, and asset management. This intensive period of learning equipped me with the necessary tools and clarity to embark on my entrepreneurial journey.
In 2019, I launched Aslan Investing Company, putting all my hard-earned knowledge and expertise to work. We began by revitalizing distressed single-family homes and quickly moved on to bigger projects, including multi-family residences and industrial properties. This venture has not only grown my professional skills but also enabled me to collaborate with partners who share my vision. Together, we're building generational wealth and enhancing communities with thoughtful Real Estate Investments. Today, we manage assets over seven figures.
